July Drink for Africa Event a Big Success
Drink for Africa supports our ongoing vision to deliver sustainable solutions that fundamentally transform disadvantaged communities. Aqua-Africa staff and volunteers transformed our downtown Omaha office into a party atmosphere for the event.
On Friday, July 11th guests came to our office to support our mission and enjoy great snacks and beer donated from local restaurants and pubs. For a $20 donation attendees received a hot-off-the-press stainless steel Aqua-Africa pint cup and filled with bottomless brews from Borgata Beer & Spirits.
Guests munched on snacks from local favorites Blue Sushi, Blatt Beer & Table, and Roja Mexican Grill while they chatted and watched Aqua-Africa’s slideshow of South Sudan projects.
Guests participated in activities to increase their understanding of the challenges that living without access to clean water can pose. They played clean water trivia and balanced “jerry” cans (buckets many Africans use to fetch water) on their heads to simulate the journey millions of African girls and women make every day to retrieve water. Drink for Africa was a huge success and raised nearly $900 dollars.
