Tower Foundations Take Shape

May 4, 2023 – CEO Buey Tut is in Maiwut overseeing Village Supplier construction. Today, foundation pits were constructed at Kolong Primary and the Parish location. A foundation pit, also known as an excavation pit, is a large hole that is dug in the ground to create a foundation for the tower structure.

The process of creating an excavation pit usually involves removing the soil or rock from the excavation site using heavy machinery such as excavators or backhoes. But in South Sudan, it is all done by hand. The sides of the pit are usually supported by retaining walls or shoring to prevent the walls from collapsing.

Once the excavation pit is dug, the foundation of the Village Supplier can be constructed. This will involve pouring concrete footings, installing steel reinforcement, or using other materials to create a stable base for the structure.

Training of the community is also progressing rapidly. Very exciting times. #construction #SouthSudan #Maiwut #Rotary #AllAccessInternational #SistersofCharity
