2022 Annual Reports Mailed
March 14, 2023
Greetings! Enclosed below is our 2022 annual report. As you flip through the pages, we hope you will share the excitement we are feeling.
In Omaha, we’re partnering with other organizations and Omaha businesses to hold an annual youth summer camp and competition that supports our mission of “bridging cultural gaps” in the community.
The report also describes the five-year strategic plan for our work in South Sudan. We are thankful for the tremendous guidance and support we received from consultant and international development expert, Leah Tirpak Waters in the plan’s preparation. The mentoring and advice of Water for People’s Co-CEO, Samson Bekele was also extremely helpful.
Last month, Mr. Bekele and a co-worker traveled with me to South Sudan to conduct a capacity audit of our South Sudan operations. We were excited to host them, and we look forward to their feedback and recommendations.
The rainy season and extreme seasonal flooding delayed much of our planned work in Maiwut Town, Upper Nile State. However, we are excited to report that our vendor’s trucks have now reached the town and water system construction has begun!
We believe that Aqua-Africa’s international operations have reached an inflection point. We’ve assembled and equipped a great team. We’ve also developed strong relationships with our in-country vendors and with the leadership of the three primary communities we serve. As a national NGO (non-government organization) we have established a strong reputation with South Sudan’s government leaders as a reliable provider of WASH services. Our growth strategy is sound, and we are prepared to scale our impact.
We hope you will join us in meeting our strategic goal of extending clean water services to at least 50,000 additional people in the next 5 years.
Enjoy the report!
Respectfully Yours,
Buey Ray Tut
